CHARGE ZONE® Turns EV Supercharging Stations into Climate Canvases with ‘Shwa’ Art Initiative

On World Environment Day, CHARGE ZONE®, India’s leading EV charging network, introduced ‘Shwa’, a groundbreaking public art initiative that blends climate consciousness with culture. The project transforms high-traffic EV supercharging stations into vibrant open-air galleries, adorned with large-scale murals that celebrate sustainability, regional heritage, and community spirit.

Kicking off at Karjan (Gujarat) and Suryapet (Telangana), the first two murals—crafted by noted artist Rahul Kumawat—signal a bold new direction for India’s highway infrastructure. These aren’t just charging points—they’re emotive spaces that invite travelers to slow down and reflect.

“Charging stations are the pit stops of the future. With Shwa, we’re turning them into storytelling spaces that spark emotional and environmental connection,” said Kartikey Hariyani, Founder & CEO of CHARGE ZONE®. “This started as an idea from our Gen Z and millennial team, and now it’s blossoming into a nationwide cultural movement.”

The goal? To roll out 10–12 murals in the next 6 months, and scale to hundreds over the next five years—all exclusive to CHARGE ZONE®’s supercharging hubs. The initiative blends art with utility, allowing users to spend charging time immersed in artwork rooted in local landscapes and climate narratives.

Each mural also features a discreet QR code linking to a newly launched Shwa microsite (shwa.chargezone.co.in)—an evolving archive of high-resolution images, artist stories, and downloadable content. The platform celebrates climate resilience through creative voices and keeps the conversation alive far beyond the roadside.

Shwa is more than art—it’s a living archive of how India sees its climate future,” said Devbrat Hariyani, Project Lead. “It’s about inspiring people where they least expect it—at a charging station.”

With Shwa, CHARGE ZONE® injects fresh energy into India’s clean mobility revolution—reminding us that the drive to sustainability isn’t just functional, it’s also beautiful.
