Bajaj Auto, the world’s most valuable two- and three-wheeler manufacturer, has announced the resumption of Chetak electric scooter deliveries across all dealerships, overcoming recent supply chain disruptions linked to global rare earth magnet shortages.

In recent weeks, international component constraints had temporarily impacted production and slowed deliveries of the Chetak. However, with supply chains stabilised, production resumed on August 20, well ahead of schedule. Bajaj Auto has also secured adequate supplies of critical materials to ensure smooth availability during the upcoming festive season, a key demand period for the two-wheeler market.

Eric Vas, President, Urbanite Business Unit, Bajaj Auto, commented:
“We appreciate our customers’ patience. Demand for Chetak remains robust, supplies have normalised and deliveries against bookings have commenced. We are scaling up production to meet rising demand while staying true to our standards of quality and customer delight.”

The Chetak has been a strong growth driver for Bajaj Auto’s EV strategy. The brand has doubled its market share since April 2024, closing FY25 as the No.1 electric scooter in India. This milestone underscores the trust customers continue to place in the iconic scooter, which combines performance, reliability, and premium design under Bajaj’s “Lifeproof” philosophy.

With production normalised and festive season demand around the corner, Bajaj Auto looks set to accelerate the Chetak’s momentum in the EV segment.
