Tata Motors Rolls Out New LPO 1622 Bus in Qatar — Euro VI-Ready, Built for Comfort and Profitability

Tata Motors is stepping up its game in the Middle East with the launch of its all-new LPO 1622 bus in Qatar. This marks the brand’s first Euro VI-compliant passenger bus in the region. Unveiled in partnership with distributor Al Hamad Automobiles, the LPO 1622 is purpose-built for staff transportation, blending powerful performance, enhanced passenger comfort, and low operating costs.

Engineered for Real-World Utility

Under the hood, it packs a 5.6L Cummins ISBe Euro VI engine pushing out 220 hp and 925 Nm of torque. The LPO 1622 is available in 61- and 65-seater configurations, making it a versatile choice for fleet operators catering to high-occupancy staff transit.

Safety and comfort features include dual-circuit air brakes with ABS, tubeless radial tyres, heavy-duty suspension, and a suite of tech like Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Cruise Control, and a Multimode Switch for driving adaptability.

Built to Deliver More Than Just Miles

According to Asif Shamim, Head of International Business at Tata Motors CV, “Qatar is a key market for us. The LPO 1622 delivers not just superior ride comfort but real-world profitability with durable components and a low cost of ownership.”

Echoing that sentiment, Mohamed Yousef Al Mana, Chairman of Al Hamad Automobiles, said, “With a strong service network and easy access to genuine parts, we’re fully geared to support Tata’s growing footprint in Qatar.”

Heavy Haulers Also Join the Show

Alongside the LPO 1622, Tata Motors also showcased its Euro V-compliant Prima range of heavy trucks — including the Prima 4040.K, 4440.S, 4040.T, and 6040.S — aimed at Qatar’s booming infrastructure and construction segments.

The Bigger Picture

With commercial vehicle operations in 40+ countries, Tata Motors continues to push its global play. From sub-1-tonne LCVs to 60-tonne HCVs, the brand’s diverse lineup, backed by deep R&D and localised engineering, is geared for every load, route, and region.

In short: Tata Motors isn’t just selling buses—it’s delivering value on wheels.
