Swaraj Tractors and Mahindra Susten Join Forces to Launch Punjab’s Largest Solar Group Captive Project
Swaraj Tractors, a part of the Mahindra Group, has announced a strategic partnership with Mahindra Susten, the Group’s clean-tech subsidiary, to set up Punjab’s largest solar group captive project. This 26 MW solar installation, located in Bathinda district, marks a significant leap towards increasing Swaraj Tractors’ renewable energy usage to nearly 50%.

The project, developed by Mahindra Susten, will deliver clean solar power to four Swaraj Tractors manufacturing plants based in Mohali and Dera Bassi. Once operational, it is expected to generate around 60 million units (kWh) of green energy annually, resulting in an estimated reduction of 54,600 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.

This initiative strongly reflects the Mahindra Group’s commitment to sustainability and climate action, establishing a new standard for green energy adoption in India’s tractor manufacturing sector.
The project also signifies Mahindra Susten’s expansion into Punjab, reinforcing its position as a leading renewable Independent Power Producer (IPP).
As one of India’s first corporates to commit to 100% renewable energy usage, the Mahindra Group continues to lead by example, championing innovation and sustainability across sectors.
