Three New Toyota Models Coming to India

Toyota is set to unveil three new SUVs in India over the next 18 months. The Taisor, based on the Fronx, is scheduled for launch this year. A fresh three-row SUV, rooted in the Hyryder, is expected in 2025. Additionally, an SUV based on the Corolla Cross is also in the pipeline.

The three-row Hyryder, sharing a production setup with the standard Hyryder and its badge-engineered counterpart, the Grand Vitara, will debut in 2025. Maruti has commenced work on the three-row Grand Vitara (codenamed Y17), to be manufactured at Maruti’s new Karkhoda plant, operational from 2025. The Hyryder variant, derived from the three-row Grand Vitara, will be produced and supplied by Maruti to Toyota. While the wheelbase is likely to remain unchanged, the three-row Hyryder will feature a slightly elongated rear overhang to accommodate the third row.

In contrast to the two-row versions handled by Toyota and supplied to Maruti, the dynamics will reverse for the three-row edition. Positioned alongside the Innova Hycross, this new SUV aims to attract customers eyeing models like the Alcazar, XUV700, and Safari.

Anticipated for a 2025 release, another Toyota SUV is under development, constructed at a new facility. This model, based on the overseas Corolla Cross SUV, will utilize the TNGA-C platform shared with the Innova Hycross, placing it above the three-row Hyryder in the lineup.
