NEW DEFENDER OCTA LAUNCHED IN INDIA: THE TOUGHEST, MOST CAPABLE, AND MOST LUXURIOUS DEFENDER YET

Defender has unveiled its most extreme, capable, and luxurious 4×4 yet in India—the New Defender OCTA. This high-performance SUV is engineered for the ultimate adventure, seamlessly blending capability with refinement.

Under the hood, the powerful 4.4-litre Twin Turbo mild-hybrid V8 propels the Defender OCTA to new heights, delivering 467 kW and 750 Nm1 of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in a blistering 4.0 seconds. Paired with a reinforced chassis and the revolutionary 6D Dynamics suspension system, it ensures top-tier performance on any terrain.

Designed with a bolder and more commanding exterior, the Defender OCTA boasts a raised ride height, extended wheel arches, and reworked bumpers, optimizing approach and departure angles. The underbody protection enhances durability, while its ability to wade through up to one meter of water surpasses any previous Defender model.

Inspired by the strength and rarity of diamonds, the Defender OCTA features a distinct octahedral design influence, symbolizing resilience and exclusivity. A signature gloss black diamond, set within a sandblasted titanium disc, adorns each Signature Graphic panel.

The exclusive Defender OCTA Edition One, available for the first year of production, showcases a meticulously curated aesthetic. It comes in a new Faroe Green finish with Khaki and Ebony UltrafabricsTM PU seating, Chopped Carbon Fibre accents, and 20-inch forged alloy wheels, offering an unmistakable presence.

Cutting-Edge Suspension and Braking:

The Defender OCTA redefines dynamic performance with the integration of 6D Dynamics suspension, making it the most technologically advanced Defender yet. This state-of-the-art system, combined with newly engineered suspension components, enhances stability, articulation, and control, ensuring a thrilling yet composed driving experience both on and off the road.

Standing 28mm taller with a widened stance by 68mm, the Defender OCTA provides superior stability and ground clearance. Reinforced wishbones, specialized dampers, and Brembo calipers with 400mm brake discs deliver confidence-inspiring control. Furthermore, the fastest steering ratio in Defender history ensures precision handling.

First-Ever OCTA Mode:

Defender OCTA introduces the innovative OCTA Mode—the first high-performance off-road mode in the Defender lineup. Designed to optimize traction, braking, and acceleration on loose terrain, OCTA Mode features unique lighting, an aggressive exhaust note, recalibrated gear shifts, and sharper steering response. The system dynamically adjusts damping based on surface conditions, providing a highly engaging off-road experience. Additionally, Off-Road Launch Control and a dedicated Off-Road ABS configuration enhance acceleration and braking on challenging surfaces.

Commanding Exterior Presence:

The Defender OCTA asserts its dominance with 33-inch diameter tyres—the largest ever fitted to a production Defender. Extended wheel arches complement a redesigned front grille for enhanced airflow, a new rear bumper integrating a four-exit active exhaust, and robust underbody protection with a Graphite-finished aluminum alloy front under shield. Phosphor Bronze-finished front and rear recovery points emphasize its rugged capability.

The Defender OCTA’s color range includes two exclusive premium metallic shades—Petra Copper and Faroe Green—alongside Carpathian Grey and Charente Grey. A contrast gloss Narvik Black roof and tailgate come standard, with an optional Matte Protective Film for added resilience in extreme conditions.

A Sophisticated, Immersive Interior:

Inside, the Defender OCTA offers meticulously curated materials and finishes. Two UltrafabricsTM PU options, which are 30% lighter than traditional leather, provide a durable yet refined aesthetic. The Edition One comes standard with a Khaki and Ebony duo-tone interior, featuring seamless Knit textile inserts.

Alternatively, the standard model includes Burnt Sienna semi-aniline leather paired with KvadratTM textile trim, with additional upholstery options available.

The all-new Performance Seats, featuring enhanced bolstering and integrated headrests, ensure optimal support. Enhancing the experience further, the Defender OCTA introduces the Body and Soul Seat technology, which utilizes transducers and AI-optimized audio processing for an immersive, multi-sensory sound experience.

The New Defender OCTA is priced at ₹259 Lakhs (ex-showroom), while the limited-run Defender OCTA Edition One is available for ₹279 Lakhs (ex-showroom) in India. Official bookings will open soon.
