Mercedes-Benz India has kickstarted its launch schedule for 2024 with the introduction of the GLS facelift on January 8. This launch marks the commencement of a series of releases by the German luxury carmaker in the upcoming year.
The GLS facelift’s launch event will take place in Delhi, featuring anticipated design modifications and interior enhancements. Exterior updates include a redesigned grille with four horizontal louvres in Silver Shadow finish, a new front bumper with air inlet grilles and high-gloss black surrounds, and updated tail-lamps exhibiting a fresh three-horizontal-block pattern motif.

Internally, the most significant change is the upgraded MBUX infotainment system. Additional updates comprise glossy brown lime wood trim, a permanent low-speed 360-degree camera, and new upholstery choices like Catalana Beige and Bahia Brown leather.
Regarding powertrains, the facelift is expected to retain the 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine in the GLS 450 4Matic and a 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel unit in the GLS 400d 4Matic. Both versions will feature the 9-speed automatic gearbox and the 4Matic AWD system as standard. Anticipated to be priced above Rs 1 crore, ex-showroom, India.

Looking ahead, Mercedes-Benz India plans to introduce a total of nine new models in 2024, with the GLS facelift being the first in line. Subsequent launches will include updated versions of the GLC, GLE, and the new EQE SUV.
