Kia has unveiled a second teaser for the upcoming Sonet facelift ahead of its debut in India on December 14, with the market launch scheduled for early next year. The facelift will introduce two digital instrument cluster options and incorporate Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology similar to the Hyundai Venue. The design updates include a Seltos-inspired LED light bar connecting the C-shaped tail-lights, a rear wiper, contoured tailgate, and a noticeable rear spoiler with an integrated stop lamp. The teaser also highlights a grey moulding on the rear bumper, adding a robust touch to the compact SUV.

Regarding the interior and features, the Sonet facelift will feature a digital instrument cluster, possibly the 10.25-inch unit from the Seltos facelift. Spy shots suggest that lower variants might adopt the instrument display from the Hyundai Venue, while higher trims could feature a more advanced Kia unit. The teaser confirms the inclusion of ADAS features like collision warning and forward collision avoidance assistance. Additional ADAS features such as lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and high beam assist are expected.
The Sonet facelift will maintain the three existing engine options: an 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox, a 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, and a 116hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission options include 6-speed iMT for the turbo-petrol and diesel engines, with the possibility of the diesel-manual making a comeback. The turbo-petrol and diesel engines will also offer 7-speed dual-clutch and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission options, respectively.
Anticipated to be priced higher than the current model’s Rs 7.79 lakh-14.89 lakh ex-showroom range, the Sonet facelift will continue to compete with rivals such as the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and other compact SUVs.
