Hyundai Unveils Interior of Exter Micro SUV Ahead of Launch

Hyundai has unveiled the interior of the Exter micro SUV ahead of its upcoming launch. The recently released images provide a comprehensive look at the interior design of the micro-SUV. The Exter shares its dashboard design with the Grand i10 Nios and Aura models, but it also features several unique elements. The interior sports an all-black color scheme, distinguishing it from the Nios and Aura, which have different color combinations. The Exter is equipped with a full-digital instrument cluster that includes a 4.2-inch MID, similar to higher-end Hyundai models like the i20 and Verna.

In terms of infotainment, the higher variants of the Exter will come with an 8.0-inch touchscreen system, similar to its sibling models. The patterned-effect on the dashboard and around the gear lever has been carried over as well. Notable features include circular AC vents, semi-leatherette seat upholstery in olive green, three-point seat belts for all rear passengers, and an AC vent for the second row. However, the Exter does not have a rear center armrest.

Hyundai has also announced that the Exter will offer connected car technology, voice-activated commands in multiple languages, and over-the-air (OTA) updates for the infotainment system and maps. Higher variants will include automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, in-built navigation, and a sunroof, among other features.

In terms of powertrains, the Exter will be equipped with Hyundai’s 83hp, 1.2-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, which is already used in models like the Venue, Nios, and Aura. Additionally, a factory-fitted CNG kit will be available. The petrol engine can be paired with a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic transmission, while the CNG variant is only offered with a manual transmission.

Bookings for the Exter are currently open, with deliveries expected to start in mid-July. Upon its launch, the Exter will compete with models like the Tata Punch, Citroen C3, and Maruti Ignis.
