Hyundai Hits 1.1 Million Sunroof Cars in India — Because We All Love a Bit of Sunshine
India can’t get enough of sunroofs — and Hyundai’s the one leading the charge.
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) just crossed a big milestone: over 1.1 million sunroof-equipped cars sold in the last 5 years. That’s right — in just half a decade, the brand has transformed what was once a luxury feature into a must-have for the masses.

And if you’re wondering just how common sunroofs have become, here’s a stat to chew on: every second Hyundai sold in FY 2024–25 came with one. That’s more than 54% of their total sales in the first half of 2025 alone.
Sunroofs for Everyone
From budget-friendly hatches to premium SUVs, Hyundai now offers sunroofs in 12 out of its 14 models. Whether you’re behind the wheel of a Venue, Creta, or Tucson, chances are you’re getting a taste of the sky. Even better? Hyundai has localized its panoramic sunroof tech, bringing costs down and accessibility up.
What Hyundai Says
Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director & COO of HMIL, shared:
“This milestone shows how Indian customers are evolving — they’re looking for more premium features and global tech in their daily drives. At Hyundai, we’re committed to making these features more accessible and shaping the future of mobility in India.”
Democratizing Premium Features
Hyundai was among the first to bring sunroofs to the mainstream in India, and this milestone just cements that leadership. More than just a design statement, sunroofs have become symbolic of aspirational, premium mobility, and Hyundai’s riding that wave in style.
As the Indian car buyer continues to evolve, Hyundai is tuned in, delivering not just cars but experiences.
