The Hyundai Creta, a standout success for the Korean brand, is set to undergo significant expansion in 2025. With an average monthly sale of around 12,000 units, Hyundai aims to further capitalize on the Creta’s popularity by introducing two new versions, including an electric variant and a performance-oriented N Line model.

1. Creta EV: A Leap into Mass-Market Electric Segment
Expected before March 2025, the Creta EV marks Hyundai’s third venture into the electric vehicle (EV) market. Sporting unique exterior styling compared to the Creta facelift, it will incorporate interior elements from the Ioniq 5. Powered by a 45kWh battery pack from LG Chem, the Creta EV aims to make a mark in the mass-market EV segment with its 138hp, 255Nm electric motor.

Hyundai acknowledges its late entry into the affordable EV space in India but is determined to catch up. With an anticipated EV penetration of 20-22 percent in the passenger vehicle market by 2030, Hyundai aims to contribute significantly to this shift by introducing high-volume EVs. The Creta-based EV is set to debut in India at the end of 2024, with a potential rivalry against MG ZS EV, Maruti’s upcoming eVX, and the Tata Curvv EV.

2. Creta N Line: Performance-Oriented Enhancement
Hyundai is set to introduce the Creta N Line, joining the ranks of performance-oriented models like the i20 N Line and Venue N Line. Expected early in 2025, the Creta N Line will feature minor exterior tweaks, N Line-specific accents, and interior enhancements for a sportier appeal.

Powered by the new 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, the Creta N Line is expected to offer a sportier driving experience. While specific gearbox options remain undisclosed, Hyundai is likely to incorporate sportier suspension, exhaust, and steering dynamics, aligning with the N Line philosophy.

3. Alcazar Facelift: Elevating the Three-Row SUV
The Alcazar, Hyundai’s three-row SUV based on the Creta, is slated to receive a facelift in mid-2024. While powertrain options remain unchanged, the exterior and interior design updates are expected to mirror those of the refreshed Creta. Spy shots hint at a split headlamp setup, a new front grille, bumper, and a redesigned tailgate for an enhanced aesthetic appeal.

The Alcazar facelift aligns with Hyundai’s strategic move to consistently refresh and elevate its lineup, ensuring competitiveness in the dynamic midsize SUV segment. The company aims to maintain the success trajectory established by the Creta and extend it to the Alcazar with timely updates.
