Tata Motors has reaffirmed its leadership in passenger vehicle safety with the All-New Altroz achieving a full 5-star rating under the Bharat NCAP (B–NCAP) crash test protocol. Scoring 29.65/32 in adult occupant protection and 44.9/49 in child occupant protection, the Altroz now holds the title of India’s safest hatchback.
This recognition builds on the model’s legacy—it was the first hatchback to earn a 5-star Global NCAP rating in 2020. The latest achievement is particularly significant as the Altroz becomes the only premium hatchback in India to be certified with a 5-star B-NCAP rating across all three fuel options—petrol, diesel, and iCNG. In fact, it is the first and only CNG-powered car in the country to secure the highest safety rating.

Commenting on the milestone, Mohan Savarkar, Vice President & Chief Product Officer, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., said:
“The Altroz has always been a pioneer in the premium hatchback space. With its segment-first 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating across petrol, diesel, and CNG, it redefines benchmarks once again while also becoming the safest CNG-powered car in India. This achievement underscores our commitment to deliver cars that customers can trust with complete confidence.”

Launched in May 2025, the new Altroz is underpinned by Tata Motors’ ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) architecture and Diamond Strength Safety Shield, ensuring superior crash protection and structural rigidity. Standard safety features include six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ISOFIX child seat mounts, a 360° HD Surround View Camera with Blind View Monitor, Direct TPMS, SOS and Breakdown Assistance, Auto Headlamps, Rain-Sensing Wipers, and LED Fog Lamps with cornering function.
Inside, the Altroz continues to push the premium envelope with a 10.25-inch Harman infotainment system paired with a digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, dual 65W fast chargers, an air purifier, iRA connected car technology, ambient lighting, and soft-touch cabin finishes. A voice-enabled sunroof and lounge-like rear seating further enhance comfort and appeal.

On the powertrain front, it remains the only hatchback in the country to offer petrol, diesel, and twin-cylinder iCNG options, complemented by a choice of manual, DCA, and AMT transmissions—making it one of the most versatile premium hatchbacks on sale today.
With the latest Bharat NCAP 5-star certification, the Altroz has strengthened its positioning as India’s safest, most versatile, and premium hatchback across all fuel types.
