Suzuki Motorcycle India boosts its Big Bike Segment with the launch of the GSX-8R, setting ‘The New Standard of Sport.’

New Delhi, 04 October 2024: Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL), the Indian arm of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, has launched the all-new Suzuki GSX-8R in India, bringing fresh excitement to the big bike segment.

Dubbed “The New Standard of Sport,” the GSX-8R blends real-world performance with rider-friendly handling and advanced features, all wrapped in cutting-edge sportbike design.

Styling Features
The GSX-8R’s styling draws from Suzuki’s sportbike legacy while introducing a bold, futuristic look. The windscreen and cowling, developed through wind tunnel testing, enhance high-speed stability and wind protection, reducing rider fatigue for a more comfortable touring experience. The sharp, compact bodywork, accented by painted engine and seat rails, highlights the bike’s slim proportions. The short, rising muffler further adds to its sleek profile.

At the front, dual vertically stacked hexagonal LED headlights, using mono-focus LED technology, provide a clear view of the road. An additional LED position light adds a sharp, aggressive appearance. The rear fender houses a compact LED tail light and license plate light, giving the bike a cleaner, sportier rear end. Bold graphics and a custom 5-inch color TFT LCD display complete the visual package.

Engine Features
Powered by Suzuki’s new 776cc parallel twin DOHC engine, the GSX-8R delivers smooth, controllable power at low RPMs and a lively performance at higher speeds. The 270-degree crankshaft produces a satisfying engine sound, reminiscent of Suzuki’s V-twin engines. The patented Suzuki Cross Balancer system ensures a smooth, lightweight engine operation. Its two-stage catalytic converter complies with Euro 5 standards while optimizing performance and sound.

The engine pairs with a six-speed transmission, featuring a Bi-directional Quick Shift system for smooth, clutch-free gear changes. The Suzuki Clutch Assist System reduces fatigue, making long rides more comfortable.

Chassis Features
The GSX-8R’s steel pipe frame is designed to complement the parallel twin engine, offering stability and agile handling in various riding conditions. The lightweight cast aluminum wheels, fitted with Dunlop RoadSport 2 radial tires, provide excellent grip. SHOWA’s SFF-BP inverted front forks and link-type rear suspension ensure a smooth, controlled ride, while the lightweight aluminum swingarm enhances stability.

The bike’s 14L fuel tank is designed for long rides, with a seat crafted for comfort and freedom of movement. Aerodynamic cowl-mounted mirrors enhance the bike’s sporty look and improve wind protection.

Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.)
The GSX-8R comes equipped with Suzuki’s Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.), which includes a three-mode Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) and a four-mode Traction Control System (STCS). Additional features like Ride-by-Wire throttle, Bi-directional Quick Shift, ABS, and Low RPM Assist contribute to a superior riding experience.

Pricing & Availability
The Suzuki GSX-8R is available in three color options: Metallic Matte Sword Silver, Metallic Triton Blue, and Metallic Matte Black No. 2. Priced at Rs. 9,25,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the GSX-8R can be found at Suzuki Bike Zones across India.
