The base Kaza Brown variant starts at Rs 2.69 lakh, followed by the Pass color schemes at Rs 2.74 lakh, Kamet White at Rs 2.79 lakh, and the premium Hanle Black at Rs 2.84 lakh. Compared to its predecessor, the Himalayan 411, which was priced between Rs 2.15 lakh and Rs 2.30 lakh, the new model commands a higher cost, ranging around Rs 54,000, contingent on the chosen color.

The 2024 Himalayan marks a significant advancement for the model, introducing a completely new liquid-cooled 452cc single-cylinder engine named the Sherpa 450. This engine produces 40hp and 40Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slip-and-assist clutch. Notably lighter than its predecessor, the engine contributes to an overall weight reduction of about 10 kg.

A novel steel twin-spar frame, utilizing the engine as a stressed member, underlies the new Himalayan. Suspension is handled by a 43mm USD fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock, both offering 200mm of travel. The bike boasts an impressive 230mm ground clearance, with a stock seat height of 825mm, extendable to 845mm or reducible to 805mm with the optional low seat.

Retaining the 21/17-inch wheel sizes, the new Himalayan features specially designed tires, including a radial unit at the rear. Braking components, supplied by ByBre, consist of a 320mm front disc and a 270mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS that can be deactivated at the rear.

Introducing a modern touch, the bike incorporates a new 4-inch TFT dash, connectable to a smartphone via Bluetooth. This display can showcase Google Maps data and control music playback through the left switch cube joystick. Notably, the 2024 Himalayan is the first Royal Enfield to incorporate ride-by-wire technology and offers two riding modes – Eco and Performance.
