KTM has unveiled its latest offerings, the 1390 Super Duke R and the 1390 Super Duke R Evo. Notably, the new models feature a redesigned headlight borrowed from the 990 Duke. Alongside the standard Super Duke, the company introduced the Super Duke R Evo.
The revamped LC8 V-Twin engine now boasts a 1,350cc capacity, achieved through a larger 110mm bore. This upgrade results in increased power and torque, with the engine producing 190hp at 10,000rpm and 145Nm at 8,000rpm—an improvement of 10hp and 5Nm compared to the outgoing 1290 Super Duke R.
KTM has extended the valve check intervals to 60,000km and increased the fuel tank capacity by 1.5 litres to a total of 17.5 litres. The airbox and intake adjustments accommodate the larger fuel tank. Despite these changes, the main frame, suspension units, and braking hardware remain largely unchanged from the previous model.

Design-wise, KTM adopts a minimalistic approach, emphasizing weight reduction by considering the thickness of every panel. For the first time, the Super Duke incorporates winglets to enhance downforce at higher speeds. Weighing 200kg (without fuel) and boasting a 834mm seat height, the 1390 Super Duke R surprises with a 149mm ground clearance.
The LED headlight from the 990 Duke has been retained, described as polarizing. The model introduces winglets for increased downforce at higher speeds, although the specific impact remains undisclosed. Electronic enhancements include a tyre pressure monitor system, five riding modes (Rain, Street, Sport, Performance, and Track, with the last two as optional extras), and optional Cruise Control and KTMConnect features bundled into Performance mode. Engine Brake Control and a 5-step adjustable Wheelie Control function are also optional extras.
The 1390 Super Duke R Evo distinguishes itself with semi-active WP suspension units, replacing the manually adjustable ones on the standard model. Notably, the Evo features a new ‘Factory Launch’ function, lowering the rear preload for optimal starts, reminiscent of the KTM RC16 GP bike. Visual differences are minimal, with the Evo featuring a small blue strip on its fork.
