Hero MotoSports Team Rally Signs Rising Rally Star Tobias Ebster
Hero MotoSports Team Rally, the factory racing team of Hero MotoCorp – the world’s largest motorcycle and scooter manufacturer – has announced the addition of Austrian rally talent Tobias Ebster to its international rider line-up. His entry marks a significant step forward in the team’s ambition to strengthen its global presence in the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC).

At just 27, Tobias has already carved out a name for himself in the rally-raid world. From a motocross and enduro background, he made his rally debut at the Hellas Rally Raid only four years ago. His breakthrough came in 2022, winning the FIM Bajas World Cup in Dubai and later securing victory in the Rally2 category at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge.
Tobias impressed the world in his debut Dakar Rally, winning the ultra-challenging “Original by Motul” (unassisted) class and finishing 20th overall – earning the Best Rookie title. In Dakar 2025, racing as a privateer with assistance, he pushed his limits further, finishing 9th overall and emerging as the top privateer in the competition.
He will first appear with Hero MotoSports at the upcoming South African Safari Rally, the third round of the 2025 W2RC season, joining teammates Ross Branch and Nacho Cornejo.
Wolfgang Fischer, Team Manager, Hero MotoSports, said:
“We’re thrilled to welcome Tobias to the Hero MotoSports family. His remarkable journey, relentless work ethic, and competitive spirit perfectly align with our values. His addition brings fresh energy and strengthens our position on the world stage.”
Tobias Ebster, Rider, Hero MotoSports Team Rally, added:
“It’s an incredible honour to join Hero MotoSports. I’ve watched the team grow into a powerhouse in rally racing, and I’m excited to be part of this journey. I’m committed to pushing myself and contributing to the team’s continued success.”
Hailing from Zillertal, Austria, Tobias grew up immersed in motorsport, mentored by his uncle and two-time Motocross World Champion Heinz Kinigadner. From pizza deliveries to plumbing jobs, Tobias has balanced hard work off the track with grit and discipline on it — now ready to take his racing career to new heights with Hero MotoSports.
