Uber Joins Forces with Nike as Official Ride Partner for Mumbai’s After Dark Tour

Uber, one of India’s leading ride-hailing platforms, has partnered with Nike as the official ride partner for the After Dark Tour (ADT) — a first-of-its-kind nighttime 10K run in Mumbai, designed to celebrate and empower women runners. As the event’s mobility partner, Uber aims to make travel safer and more accessible for women, especially after dark.

The partnership stems from a powerful insight: safety concerns continue to limit women’s freedom to step out at night. In a recent Uber survey, 85% of women reported cancelling night plans due to safety or transport issues. Uber and Nike’s collaboration encourages young Indians, particularly women, to reclaim the night with confidence, not compromise.

Through this partnership, Uber will offer dependable, round-the-clock transport to ADT participants—whether it’s heading to the run or getting home after the post-race celebration. With trusted safety features such as live GPS tracking, an emergency button, and verified driver profiles, Uber continues to be a preferred choice for nighttime travel.

Key insights from Uber’s survey:

  • 85% of women have cancelled or avoided night outings due to transport or safety concerns

  • 79% feel safer using rideshare apps at night

  • 94% say ride-hailing enables spontaneous nighttime plans

  • 70.8% rank live GPS tracking as the most reassuring safety feature

Shiva Shailendran, Director, Consumer & Growth at Uber India and South Asia, said:
“We’re proud to support Nike’s After Dark Tour. No one should have to plan their lives around safety concerns. Our goal is to make night-time mobility safer, especially for women, and this partnership reflects that commitment.”

Tarundeep Singh, GM of Nike India, added:
“The After Dark Tour is about confidence and connection for women runners. With Uber as our ride partner, we’re making sure every participant feels supported from start to finish.”

This collaboration not only supports a landmark sporting event but also reinforces Uber’s broader mission: empowering women with freedom of movement and enabling them to confidently pursue opportunities, day or night.
