Tata Motors Expands Its Vehicle Scrapping Network with New Re.Wi.Re Facilities in Lucknow & Raipur

Tata Motors is taking another big step toward cleaner roads and greener mobility with the launch of two new vehicle scrapping centres under its Re.Wi.Re (Recycle With Respect) initiative. The brand’s latest Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSFs) have just gone live in Lucknow and Raipur, further strengthening its push toward a circular economy and sustainable automotive practices.

Inaugurated virtually by Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, both centres are built to handle end-of-life vehicles of all shapes and sizes—be it two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger cars, or commercial vehicles—regardless of brand.

Each facility comes fully equipped with eco-friendly dismantling lines, digital workflows, and strict protocols to manage hazardous vehicle components like batteries, oils, and gases. The Raipur centre, operated by Raipur Green Energy Pvt Ltd, has a capacity of 25,000 vehicles per year, while Moto Scrapland Pvt Ltd will run the Lucknow facility, which can scrap 15,000 vehicles annually.

“Vehicle scrappage is key to cleaner air, safer roads, and more efficient transport. Tata Motors is doing the heavy lifting with its expanding Re.Wi.Re network,” said Shri Gadkari. “These centres are essential for India’s green mobility goals.”

With these two new additions, Tata Motors now operates 10 Re.Wi.Re scrapping centres across India—including in Delhi NCR, Jaipur, Surat, Pune, and Kolkata—capable of responsibly dismantling over 1.75 lakh vehicles a year.

Tata Motors’ Executive Director, Girish Wagh, added, “Recycling is the future of responsible mobility. With Re.Wi.Re, we’re not just scrapping old vehicles—we’re closing the loop on waste and helping usher in a cleaner automotive era.”

From heritage-rich design to future-forward EVs, Tata Motors has always been a brand that blends innovation with intent. And with Re.Wi.Re, it’s helping India pave the way for a smarter, more sustainable auto ecosystem—one scrapped vehicle at a time.
