Setco Auto Systems Partners with VNIT Nagpur for Joint Research in Automotive Technology

Setco Automotive Limited (BSE: 505075, NSE: SETCO), one of India’s largest manufacturers of MHCV clutches and a premium supplier of truck products, has announced that its subsidiary, Setco Auto Systems Pvt. Ltd., has signed an MoU with Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur. The collaboration aims to drive joint research and innovation in automotive technology, marking a significant step in strengthening industry–academia partnerships for next-generation mobility solutions.
VNIT Nagpur, established in 1960 as Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE) and declared an Institute of National Importance in 2002, is renowned for its focus on engineering, architecture, science, and research-driven innovation.
Key Focus Areas of the Collaboration:

Joint research in advanced automotive systems, including drivetrains, friction-facing technology, electric mobility, and sustainable vehicle solutions.

Establishment of a Clutch Research Laboratory within VNIT’s Mechanical Engineering Department to develop innovative technologies, new products, and advanced testing methods.

Advancements in clutch system performance, durability, and lifecycle.

Practical exposure for VNIT students through live industry projects, internships, advanced testing facilities, and mentorship from Setco’s R&D experts.
