Mumbai Tops Uber’s 2025 Lost & Found Index; Wedding Saree and Gold Biscuit Among Oddest Items Left Behind

Uber India has released its 9th Annual Lost & Found Index, revealing Mumbai as the most forgetful city of 2024, dethroning Delhi after two years. Pune rose to third place, while Hyderabad ranked as the least forgetful metro.

The report offers quirky insights into what Indians left behind in Uber’s last year. While phones, wallets, and bags remained the most common items, unusual finds included a wedding saree, a gold biscuit, 25 kg of cow ghee, and even a gas stove.

Key Highlights:

  • Top Forgetful Cities: Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune, Bangalore, Kolkata

  • Most Forgotten Items: Backpack, earphones, phone, wallet, spectacles

  • Most Unique Items: Wedding saree, gold biscuit, bansuri, hawan kund

  • Peak Forgetful Time: Evenings, especially around 7 PM

  • Forgetful Days: Weekends, with August 3 topping the list

  • Colors Most Forgotten: Red, blue, yellow

  • Phone Brands Often Left: Samsung, Apple, OnePlus

Uber encourages riders to use the in-app “Lost Item” support to recover belongings, including contacting the driver directly.
