Marelli Showcases Software-Defined Vehicle Innovations at Auto Shanghai 2025 with New ProZone Launch

Global automotive technology leader Marelli is set to spotlight its advancements in Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) at Auto Shanghai 2025, taking place from April 23 to May 2 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC). At the heart of its showcase is the debut of ProZone, a next-generation zone control unit designed to handle complex, cross-domain functions like thermal management, chassis control, and advanced propulsion.

As part of its “Fast Forward. Forward Fast.” strategy, Marelli emphasizes the transition from traditional distributed electronic systems to zonal architectures—significantly reducing the number of ECUs per vehicle and cutting cost, weight, and complexity. ProZone plays a critical role in this shift, offering a mid-range, cost-effective solution that manages up to three domains within a unified control unit.

Positioned to become the world’s largest supplier of zone control units by 2026, Marelli sets itself apart through its flexible, modular approach, enabling seamless integration with third-party systems and legacy platforms. Its expertise spans 80% of vehicle software functionality, making it a go-to partner for OEMs at any stage of the SDV transition.

Visitors to Marelli’s booth (Hall 1.2H, Stand 1BF009) can explore the ‘Velocity Zone’, an immersive space showcasing SDV enablement tools like an interactive vehicle architecture configurator and MyAvatar, an AI-based driver assistant offering personalized in-cabin experiences.

Joining the LeanZone and EliteZone platforms, ProZone strengthens Marelli’s scalable SDV hardware portfolio—catering to varying market needs with a strong balance of innovation, flexibility, and affordability.
