CEAT Limited, one of India’s leading tyre manufacturers, has secured the prestigious Five Star Occupational Health and Safety rating from the British Safety Council for its Halol plant. The recognition follows a rigorous best-practice audit, underscoring CEAT’s continued commitment to workplace safety and employee wellbeing.

The comprehensive audit assessed CEAT’s health and safety policies, processes, and practices, including documentation, on-ground operations, and interactions with management and employees. Performance was benchmarked against over 50 best-practice indicators, with the Halol facility emerging as a model of occupational safety excellence.

This marks the second time CEAT’s Halol plant has achieved the Five Star grading, the first being in 2016. With this, four CEAT facilities — Halol, Nagpur, Chennai, and Ambernath — now carry this globally recognized accolade, strengthening the company’s reputation for safe and sustainable manufacturing practices.

Mike Robinson, CEO of the British Safety Council, praised CEAT’s achievement, calling it “an outstanding reflection of a proactive organisation committed to continual improvement and the well-being of its workforce.”

Jayasankar Kuruppal, Senior Vice President – Manufacturing, CEAT, added, “At CEAT, safety is more than compliance — it is a core value. Securing this Five-Star rating for the second time demonstrates the consistency of our efforts and the dedication of our people. By embedding advanced technologies, robust risk management, and active employee engagement into our operations, we are setting benchmarks for world-class manufacturing.”

The recognition not only highlights CEAT’s operational excellence but also reaffirms its belief that workplace safety is integral to long-term business sustainability and value creation.
