VinFast India Partners with BatX Energies for High-Voltage Battery Recycling and Circular EV Ecosystem
VinFast Auto India, the Indian arm of global EV maker VinFast, has entered into a landmark partnership with clean-tech leader BatX Energies to build a robust and sustainable battery value chain in India. The collaboration focuses on recycling, recovering rare materials, and repurposing high-voltage (HV) EV batteries, aligning with India’s growing shift towards eco-friendly mobility.
As part of the agreement, BatX Energies will handle the recycling of end-of-life batteries from VinFast’s factory and after-sales operations. Key materials like lithium, cobalt, and nickel will be recovered and reintegrated into the production ecosystem, supporting resource circularity, reducing mining dependence, and minimizing environmental impact.
This strategic alliance goes beyond battery disposal. It sets the stage for urban mining, second-life battery applications, and traceable material flows, driving forward India and Vietnam’s shared vision for a circular economy. Both companies aim to establish a scalable model for responsible innovation and localized sustainability in the EV sector.

Utkarsh Singh, CEO of BatX Energies, added: “With VinFast, we’re creating infrastructure that enables the EV industry to grow responsibly while making a tangible environmental impact.”
The move follows a string of strategic partnerships by VinFast India, including myTVS and RoadGrid for after-sales and charging support, and Global Assure for roadside assistance. As the company gears up to launch its VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs in India, construction at its Thoothukudi manufacturing plant continues at pace, alongside nationwide investment in dealerships, service centers, and charging infrastructure.
With BatX onboard, VinFast strengthens its commitment to sustainable electric mobility, ensuring that the journey to zero emissions includes not just the road ahead, but the batteries that power it.
