Range Rover has officially previewed the upcoming Range Rover Sport Electric, offering the first glimpse of its second all-electric model ahead of its global debut later this year. Following the introduction of the highly anticipated Range Rover Electric, the new Sport Electric is set to redefine the luxury performance SUV segment with zero-emission power and signature Range Rover refinement.
The electric SUV made its public appearance during an exclusive preview at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK, where it demonstrated its capabilities on the iconic Goodwood Motor Circuit. Building on Range Rover Sport’s legacy of tackling challenging feats, including the famous Heaven’s Gate staircase in China and Iceland’s spillway climb, the electric version showcased its performance credentials through a series of dynamic driving demonstrations.
Performance Meets Electric Luxury
The Range Rover Sport Electric combines the brand’s unmistakable muscular design with an all-new electric powertrain engineered to deliver instant performance, higher levels of torque and refined driving dynamics. The SUV also features an advanced chassis setup and specially developed sound profile, promising an engaging driving experience across both on-road and off-road conditions.
Commenting on the preview, Martin Limpert, Managing Director, Range Rover, said the electric powertrain adds a new dimension to the Range Rover Sport, combining effortless performance with the refinement and dynamic character customers expect from the brand.
Completing the Powertrain Line-up
With the arrival of the fully electric variant later this year, the Range Rover Sport lineup will offer one of the most comprehensive powertrain portfolios in the luxury SUV segment. Customers will be able to choose from fully electric, plug-in hybrid, mild-hybrid V8 petrol, six-cylinder petrol and diesel options, catering to a wide range of driving preferences.
Range Rover says the Sport Electric has been carefully calibrated to retain the engaging and sporty driving characteristics that have defined the model while embracing the benefits of electric mobility.
We expect to announce further technical specifications, performance figures, and market availability closer to the global launch later this year.
