Bajaj Chetak Leads the Pack: No.1 Electric Scooter in India, Q4 FY’25

Bajaj Chetak Reclaims Leadership, Becomes India’s Top-Selling Electric Scooter in Q4 FY’25

Pune, 8 April 2025 – Bajaj Chetak has emerged as India’s No.1 electric scooter in both volume and value for the final quarter of FY 2024–25, capturing a strong 29% market share. The achievement reaffirms the Chetak’s trusted legacy—revitalized for the electric age with unmatched reliability, performance, and design.

Once a household name that shaped India’s two-wheeler market in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, Chetak is now redefining leadership in the EV space. The journey to the top was powered by over 2 lakh units sold in 2024, supported by Bajaj Auto’s 3,800+ touchpoints nationwide and the successful rollouts of the 29 and 35 Series.

The Chetak 35 Series, hailed as the “Best Chetak Yet,” brings advanced tech, safety, and a sleek new design—further strengthening its appeal among modern commuters.

A Clean Energy Pioneer

Bajaj Auto continues to lead the clean fuel movement in India. Since introducing CNG three-wheelers in 2001, the company has remained a trailblazer in green mobility. In Q4 FY 24–25, Bajaj held a 28% combined market share in electric and CNG two- and three-wheelers, reinforcing its position as India’s No.1 clean fuel mobility company.

Today, 40% of Bajaj’s domestic sales come from electric and CNG vehicles, a figure bolstered by innovative launches like the Bajaj Freedom—the world’s first CNG motorcycle—and the Bajaj Gogo electric three-wheelers.

With Chetak at the forefront, Bajaj Auto continues to power India’s journey towards a cleaner, greener tomorrow.
