Eicher Hosts Nationwide Health Camps for Drivers

Eicher Trucks and Buses, a division of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) Limited, has reinforced its commitment to driver well-being by organizing health check-up camps under its flagship Eicher Highway Superheroes Program. Conducted in collaboration with Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital (SCEH), the initiative spanned 20+ key locations and benefited over 900 drivers across Andhra Pradesh, Delhi NCR, Haryana, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.

The camps offered free general health consultations, eye screenings, and road safety training sessions, recognizing drivers as the backbone of India’s logistics ecosystem.

“Truck and Bus drivers form the backbone of our logistics system. At Eicher, we salute these highway heroes who tirelessly keep our economy running. Driver well-being is central to building a safe and sustainable transport ecosystem,” said Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO, VECV.

Launched in 2016, the Eicher Highway Superheroes Program has emerged as one of India’s most impactful driver care initiatives, offering advanced, affordable eye screenings through 13 Eye & Ear Screening Mobile Vans and a fixed facility at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Delhi. With 10 hospital partners, collaborations with 2,500 transporters, and tie-ups with government transport departments across 11 states, the program has already benefited more than 2.7 lakh drivers nationwide.

Eicher’s driver-centric ecosystem goes beyond healthcare. The Phoenix-Eicher Institute of Driver Training and Research in Latur, Maharashtra provides professional training programs aimed at upskilling drivers and strengthening their role in ensuring road safety and efficiency.

By combining healthcare with training and awareness, Eicher Trucks and Buses continues to push its vision of modernizing trucking in India—making it safer, healthier, and more sustainable for those at the wheel.
