With the debut of the all-new Renault Boreal, the French carmaker reaffirms its global ambitions in the C-segment SUV category. Designed specifically for markets such as Latin America, Turkey, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean basin, the Boreal blends European sophistication with local sensibilities, placing high importance on design, technology, and perceived value.
Design Language
Styled to exude robustness and high-tech appeal, the Boreal marks a continuation of Renault’s evolving design DNA. Taut lines and flowing bodywork define its expressive, muscular form. The front end features the new Nouvel’R logo integrated into a full-width body-coloured grille and a striking LED lighting signature inspired by the Renault Niagara concept.
Bold proportions (4.56m long, 1.84m wide, 1.65m tall) and a long 2.70m wheelbase result in a commanding road presence. Details like 19-inch alloys, a two-tone black roof, aluminium skid plates, and a panoramic sunroof complete the upscale exterior.
Refined Cabin with European Influence
Inside, the Boreal delivers a high-quality, contemporary space. The dual-screen OpenR setup features two 10-inch displays for instrumentation and infotainment, drawing parallels to the Renault 5 and 4 E-Tech models. A unique lighting ambience with 48 colours adds to the in-cabin experience, while soft-touch materials and laser-engraved inserts elevate the premium feel.
Rear passengers benefit from ample space, USB-C ports, dedicated vents, and a 40/60 split seat with the Easy Break folding function. The boot offers 586L of luggage space, expandable to 1,770L with the seats down.
Connected Tech & Native Google Integration
Built on Renault’s new international modular platform, the Boreal offers advanced digital integration with Google Automotive Services. Native Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play are part of the OpenR Link infotainment system. OTA (over-the-air) updates and remote vehicle access via the My Renault app provide added convenience.
Immersive Sound & Personalisation
A Harman Kardon Premium audio system, co-developed with Jean-Michel Jarre, delivers a surround-sound experience with five curated acoustic modes: Studio, Immersion, Concert, Club, and Lounge. Renault’s Multi-Sense system enables drivers to customise the driving feel, ambient lighting, and vehicle response, now enhanced with a new Smart Mode for intelligent on-the-go adaptation.
Safety and Assistance: Up to 24 ADAS Features
Renault Boreal comes equipped with up to 24 advanced driver assistance systems, offering features like Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Warning, Emergency Lane-Keeping Assist, AEBS, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Level 2 semi-autonomous driving. Parking is simplified with 360-degree cameras and Hands-Free Parking tech.
Powertrain: Turbocharged for Performance
Initially launched in Latin America, the Boreal is powered by a 1.3L TCe turbocharged engine producing up to 163 hp and 270 Nm of torque (Flex Fuel version). Mated to a 6-speed EDC dual-clutch transmission, the powertrain offers brisk performance and fuel efficiency, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 9.26 seconds.

The flexible modular platform not only underpins the Boreal but also supports varying dimensions and technologies, allowing Renault to tailor powertrain options for specific markets. Future variants may offer additional engine-transmission combinations.
