Mahindra has unveiled the latest addition to its Scorpio N lineup with the introduction of the Z8 Select variant, set to hit dealerships on March 1. Positioned between the standard Z8 and Z6 trims, the Z8 Select offers a compelling package with a starting price range of Rs 16.99 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom), making it up to Rs 1.65 lakh more affordable than its Z8 counterpart.
Key Differences and Pricing
The Z8 Select variant, while more budget-friendly, does not include the 4WD option found in the Z8. Despite this omission, it remains a strong contender with a price gap ranging from Rs 1.11 lakh to Rs 1.65 lakh compared to the Z8, depending on the chosen powertrain. Additionally, it stands above the Z6 with a price difference of approximately Rs 69,000 to Rs 1.38 lakh.

Powertrain Options
Mahindra offers two powertrain options for the Scorpio N Z8 Select: the 203hp, 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine and the 175hp, 2.2-liter diesel engine, each paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
Feature Highlights
The Z8 Select presents a sleek ‘Midnight Black’ exterior option as a new addition to its color palette. While it closely mirrors the features and safety offerings of the Z8 variant, there are a few distinctions. Notable exclusions in the Z8 Select include push-button start, a tyre pressure monitor, dual-zone climate control, power folding wing mirrors, and automatic headlights and wipers.
However, buyers can still enjoy premium amenities such as 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED lighting, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7.0-inch TFT instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a sunroof, rear disc brakes, and a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags and ESC.
Overall, the Scorpio N Z8 Select strikes a balance between affordability and luxury, offering a compelling option for those seeking a feature-rich SUV without breaking the bank.
