Hyundai Creta Hits One Million Sales Milestone in India

The Hyundai Creta has reached a significant milestone in India, surpassing one million sales. This achievement reflects the enduring popularity and strong demand for the midsize SUV among Indian consumers since its launch in July 2015. With an average monthly sales figure of approximately 13,103 units and around 436 units sold per day, the Creta has steadily gained traction in the market.

Hyundai’s impressive sales performance is evident from their claim of selling one Creta every five minutes, highlighting the SUV’s immense popularity. Notably, diesel variants account for a substantial portion, making up 45% of total sales. Hyundai’s successful strategy of offering diverse powertrain options to cater to different customer preferences has contributed to this achievement. Additionally, the Creta’s success extends beyond domestic borders, with over 280,000 units exported from India, showcasing its global appeal.

The Creta’s sales performance has played a pivotal role in driving Hyundai’s overall success in India’s competitive automotive market. In the current fiscal year, the Creta contributes significantly to Hyundai’s total UV sales, accounting for 41.54% of the brand’s overall sales. Despite facing stiff competition, the Creta has maintained its position as a top contender in the segment, thanks to its combination of style, performance, and features.

Hyundai’s plans to introduce an all-electric variant of the Creta demonstrate their commitment to embracing emerging market trends, particularly the shift towards electric mobility. This move aims to capitalize on the increasing demand for eco-friendly vehicles in India and solidify Hyundai’s position as an innovative automotive manufacturer. With continued innovation and strategic planning, Hyundai is poised to sustain its leadership position in the Indian automotive market in the years ahead.
