Maharashtra is all set to enter the global motorsport spotlight as Navi Mumbai prepares to host the state’s first-ever Formula Night Street Race this December. The announcement came with the signing of an MoU between Racing Promotions Pvt. Ltd. (RPPL) and Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), witnessed by Hon’ble Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The finale of the Indian Racing Festival (IRF) will transform Navi Mumbai’s Palm Beach Road into a floodlit FIA-grade street circuit, measuring 3.753 km with 14 challenging turns. This marks Mumbai’s first FIA-grade street racing venue and places the city alongside global destinations that host iconic night races.
Fans can expect a double-header weekend featuring the Indian Racing League (IRL) and the FIA-certified Formula 4 Indian Championship (F4IC), with top Indian and international racers battling it out under city lights. The circuit, running past Nerul Lake and Navi Mumbai’s wide boulevards, promises both speed and spectacle against a glittering skyline backdrop.
Speaking on the milestone, CM Devendra Fadnavis said, “The Mumbai Street Race marks a historic step in Maharashtra’s motorsport journey. This event will inspire young racers, create jobs, and showcase our state’s ability to host world-class events that drive tourism and innovation.”
RPPL Chairman & MD, Akhilesh Reddy, added, “Mumbai’s unique energy makes it the perfect stage for this night race. With a 3.753 km FIA-grade circuit and a proven track record from Hyderabad and Chennai, this event will set new benchmarks for motorsport in India.”
Adding to the excitement, the festival will feature celebrity-backed teams, with John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Sourav Ganguly, Sudeep Kichcha, Naga Chaitanya, and Dr. Swetha Sundeep Anand among team owners—blending the glamour of cinema with the thrill of racing.
The 2025 IRF season has already seen rounds in Coimbatore and Chennai, with Goa up next before the grand Navi Mumbai finale. When December arrives, the roar of engines and packed grandstands will signal Maharashtra’s arrival on the world motorsport map.
